LUMI
The LUMI Standards
LUMI makes calm things for very small children. These are the rules every LUMI thing follows. Each one is checkable — most of them from your own browser.
The funny version lives in the handbook.
No advertising, ever.
Check it: View source. No ad scripts exist.
No accounts, no sign-ins.
Check it: There is nothing to sign into.
No data collection inside the toy. The play screen makes zero network requests after it loads.
Check it: Open devtools and watch the network panel while she plays.
Works without internet.
Check it: Turn off the Wi-Fi.
Nothing moves unless the child acts. No autoplay, nothing solicits.
Check it: Open the office and wait. Nothing happens.
Stimulation only ramps down. Mashing harder makes it calmer, never louder.
Check it: Hold ten keys for ten seconds.
No scores, no streaks, no badges, no notifications. The toy never asks anyone to come back.
Check it: There is no mechanism to find.
Designed to be put down. Sessions dim toward a stopping point. The ending is part of the toy.
Check it: Play for nine minutes.
Sounds are recorded instruments at one gentle loudness. Never synthesized beeps.
An honest note: the preview build you can play today runs a provisional sound pack that is synthesized — the exact thing this standard bans. Recorded instruments replace it before release, and this standard gates that release.
Check it: Listen. If a sound reads as a beep, it does not ship.
Plain-language everything. If a claim can't be checked, it doesn't get made.
Check it: You just read nine of them.
Adopted 12 June 2026. Applies to: The Toddler Office. Future LUMI things inherit it on arrival.
